South West Plastic Surgery Conference 2019

The Exeter Surgical Society is pleased to invite you to attend their multi-award-winning, 2nd Annual National South West Plastic Surgery Conference (SWPSC) on Saturday, 2nd March 2019 at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, Exeter.

The SWPSC 2019 will bring insight into the exciting field of plastic surgery to medical students and junior doctors across the UK. After winning the ‘ASiT Battle of the Student Surgical Societies 2018’, we hope to continue to establish the SWPSC as the premier student-led plastic surgery conference across the UK.

The conference will consist of morning lectures delivered by world-renowned plastic surgeons. Our keynote speakers include Mr Peter Saxby, Founder of the renowned Exeter Plastic Surgery Unit and Professor Dominic Furniss, University of Oxford. We will explore the plastic surgery speciality, it’s subspecialties, and organise an expert panel discussion on plastic surgery. We will also be hosting a poster competition and practical workshops in basic plastics suturing skills, knot-tying and tendon repair - all practical skills commonly used by plastic surgeons. New this year, we have introduced a surgical portfolio building workshop with a bespoke CV checking service to allow attendees the chance to have their CVs vetted by experts.

Medical students and junior doctors are invited to submit abstracts for poster presentation at this national conference. We are accepting abstract submissions of any audit, SSU/SSC, case report, elective or other research project associated with plastic surgery and dermatology, or surgery in general. To be considered, please submit a 250-word structured abstract to, by Thursday, 7th February 2019, 23:59.

Purchase your early-bird tickets now from only £18, offer lasts until Thursday, 31st January 23:59PM:

Exciting New Research Opportunity

EuroSurg are the first pan european medical student research collaborative. We follow a similar structure to the GlobalSurg project and the STARSurg collaborative. Students across european countries will come together and conduct research, contributing to big multi-centre, international cohort studies. These studies will then be published in journals, where every collaborator will be PubMed citable.
