The British Orthopaedic Association (BOA) is the surgical specialty association for trauma and orthopaedics in the UK. As a membership organisation we care for patients and support surgeons by focusing on excellence in professional practice, training and education, and research.

The BOA is pleased to announce a revision to its membership categories for 2015. Membership now includes medical students (Yrs 1-6) and foundation year doctors (Yrs 1-2). We have a unique role in connecting our surgeon members with medical students and post graduate doctors in training who have an interest in trauma and orthopaedics. This will be especially important as the specialty continues to grow in response to demand from patients for surgery that restores their mobility and transforms their lives.

The benefits of BOA membership include; free attendance to the BOA Annual Congress(dedicated session for medical students on Friday 18th September), annual membership handbook, reduced rates to training events, reduced rates for professional indemnity, and eligibility for fellowships.

Membership rates for 2015 for medical students (Yrs 1-6) and foundation year doctors (Yrs 1-2) is £10.00. To apply for BOA membership applications can be completed online here. For any queries please contact the membership administrator, Leslie O’Leary at l.oleary@boa.ac.uk.
